    Following a significant contract win in Brazil, United Offshore Support GmbH (UOS) announced the expansion of its Americas business into Mexico. The Germany-based company recently secured a contract with ENI Mexico, part of Eni S.p.A, to provide drilling support for the Valaris 8505 semisubmersible rig.

  • Seadrill affiliate emerges from chapter 11...

    Seadrill Partners, an affiliate company formed by Seadrill to own, operate and acquire offshore drilling rigs, has emerged from Chapter 11 after completing its reorganization plan. Seadrill Partners filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy in December 2020 as part of more than two dozen companies affiliated with John Fredriksen’s offshore rig operator Seadrill Limited, which itself filed for bankruptcy two months later.

U-Ming forms JV and orders vessels for Taiwan offshore wind farms

In the latest example of an ocean carrier seeking to expand its business to realize opportunities in the emerging offshore wind industry, Taiwanese carrier U-Ming announced a new marine offshore joint venture. With a fleet of approximately 60 bulk carriers, U-Ming formed a partnership with World Marine Offshore to pursue the offshore wind sector in Taiwan.

BHP taps McDermott for GoM subsea installation

Offshore installation company McDermott has won a contract with oil firm BHP for a marine installation campaign for the Shenzi Subsea Multiphase Pumping Project (SSMPP) in the U.S. Gulf of Mexico.
