  • The LNG Fuel Finder – a new service for LNGi

    Just in time for Nor-Shipping, DNV GL will launch the LNG Fuel Finder - a new tool on its LNG business intelligence portal LNGi. The new LNG Fuel Finder service will allow shipowners and charterers to register their interest in using LNG as a ship fuel free of charge, connecting them directly with LNG suppliers. DNV GL has also introduced the option of signing up to a new lean version, where interested parties can access some of LNGi’s services and data free of charge.

Torsten Schramm, President at DNV GL – Maritime, recently presented the ISO certification for the standards ISO 50001:2011 and OHSAS 18001:2007 to Carsten Sommerhage, Director of Columbia Shipmanagement (Deutschland) GmbH, at the shipping company’s offices in Hamburg.

    Today, assessment of the structural condition of a vessel mostly takes place during survey, i.e. during physical tank entry. New inspection techniques such as drones and self-localizing cameras could enable cost efficient full visual mapping of tank condition on a 3D ship model.     Bureau Veritas has announced the launch of the Veristar AIM 3Dasset integrity management system, based on technology partner Dassault Systems’ 3DEXPERIENCE platform.

    The new solution combines a digital twin of any marine or offshore assets with smart data in a collaborative environment. Veristar AIM 3D will be used in the design, development and implementation of the operational lifecycle, to reflect and predict the condition of any asset, or fleet of assets. The solution supports risk-based inspection and condition based maintenance approaches.
